When it is determined that your business is a permitted use in a particular location, the Zoning Officer is charged with the review of your ZONING PERMIT APPLICATION using the criteria within the Schedule of Regulations, MUNICIPAL CODE and NJ Land Use Law.
If you are seeking a zoning variance, city staff will review your ZONING BOARD APPLICATION to determine if it is complete and then schedule you for a hearing date. The Zoning Board of Adjustment will review your application at its regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Submission deadlines, meeting dates and instructions are located in the application packet.
If your application involves a subdivision, site plan review or conditional use review, you will most likely need to submit a PLANNING BOARD APPLICATION to be reviewed by city staff for completeness and assigned a hearing date to be reviewed at the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Planning Board.
Planning Board meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:30 PM.
Zoning Board meets the 1st Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM.
